Young swimmers splash out for charity
Henley Standard - March 8th 2008

Over 150 swimmers made a splash a week last Saturday when they took part in a Swimathon - raising nearly £6,000 for charity.

People of all ages from 15 schools and organisations headed to LA Fitness in Henley to compete in the event run by the Henley Lions Club.

They packed the pool and raced against the clock to rack up as many lengths as possible, cheered on by a large crowd of family and friends.

Fifty per cent of the funds raised will be used by the club to make a donation to the Henley branch of Headway, Thames Valley. The rest of the money will be kept by the teams to donate to a charity of their choice.
